William Ball Joyce III

November 12, 1998 ~ July 10, 2020 (age 21)

William Ball Joyce III, “Little Bill”, 21, went to be with his heavenly Father on July 10, 2020 in Manila, Philippines.  Will was born on November 12, 1998 and lived in Sanford until he relocated to Cary, North Carolina when he was in the second grade.

While living in Cary, NC he was active in St. Francis United Methodist Church youth fellowship and served as an acolyte.  He was also in The Boy Scouts of America Troop 202 for 7 years and the Athens Drive High School marching band where he played the saxophone.  In the summers, he was a member of the Lochmere Swim Team.  After attending Wake Technical College, he moved to Manila, Philippines to pursue a marketing career. Will loved spending time with family and friends, traveling with his Mom and Granny, cooking with his Dad, and exploring nature and wildlife.

An old soul who had a unique perception of the world around him, Will was passionate about the things he loved, always going all the way. His resilience and perseverance were evident from a young age, after surviving an unfortunate accident at 5 years old that led to numerous surgeries throughout the years. Throughout this, Will’s determination and strength was shown through his maturity, compassion, and ability to find the humor in life. He had a strong sense of adventure that guided him towards the caring culture he immersed himself in and the indomitable spirit he grew to be.

Will is survived by his mother, Tammy Kelly Joyce of Southern Pines, North Carolina and his father William Ball Joyce, Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina; his godparents, Bobby and Janet Faulk; his best friends, Patrick Gurganus and Max Piechottka; his significant other, Luisa Pimental; as well as several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Williard Kenneth Kelly and Rebecca Eades Kelly and paternal grandparents, William Ball Joyce, Sr. and Sarah Gunter Joyce.
