Obituary
Dorothy Mae Ham Teachey King, 81 of Sanford passed away Saturday January 9th, 2021. A private memorial service will be held, and a public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
Mrs. King was born in Kinston, daughter of the late Leon Ham and Canary Mozingo Ham. Dorothy was “Always a Nurse”, a graduate of the Lenoir Memorial Nursing School and practiced nursing for 52 years. She was a Master Gardener and loved sewing.
Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Larry E. King; daughter, Denise Hedrick (Jeff) of Sanford; son, Eddie Teachey (Lisa) of New Bern; sister, Joyce Smith (Cliffton) of High Point; stepdaughter, Krystal Singleton (Thomas) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Jenni Stafford, Sara Lyerly, Graham Teachey, Laura Hedrick, Lillie Hedrick, Kaley Singleton, and Felicity Singleton; five great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gay Marie Eubanks.
