Zona Lee Burns

Zona Lee Burns, 87 of Sanford passed away Monday November 28, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Friday at Buffalo Cemetery.

Mrs. Burns was born in Sanford, daughter of the late Spencer Henderson Query and Clara Dawkins Query. She was preceed in death by her husband John M. “Johnny Mac” Burns and a grandson, Michael Burns. Mrs. Burns was a retired Registered Nurse from the Lee County Hospital.

Mrs. Burns is survived by her sons, Spencer Burns of Sanford, David Burns and wife Kathy of Apex, and Frank Burns of Sanford; two grandchildren, Natalie Smith and Justin Burns; three great grandchildren, Archer Smith, Eli Smith, and Grady Burns; one brother, Bobby Query of Pittsboro.

The family will greet friends following the graveside service.
