Wilma Valena Holt Hunter, 86 of Sanford passed away Monday December 5, 2016. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday December 28, 2016 at St Luke United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery.

Mrs. Hunter was born in Lee Co a daughter of the late Rufus Holt and Josephine Griffin Holt. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Jack Manly Hunter, a sister, Gaynell “Pinkie” Holt and a brother, Winfred Holt. She was a faithful supporter with her husband’s Christian ministry. Mrs. Hunter was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved reading, traveling and antiquing.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by her daughter, W. Yvonne Gale and husband Don of Pinehurst; son, Michael R. Hunter and wife Sue  of Stedman; grandsons, Kenneth Gale of Fayetteville, Jeremy Hunter of Brooklyn, NY, and Zack Hunter of Heidelberg, Germany; sisters, Jean Stevens of Sanford, and Camilla White of Broadway; brothers, JR Holt of Broadway and Frank Holt of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday December 27th at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.
