William James "Billy" Thomas

William James “Billy” Thomas passed away peacefully Friday May 5, 2023, surrounded by his wife and loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday May 10^th at Broadway United Methodist Church in the Sanctuary.

 Billy was a hard-working man. He took on many job roles throughout his life. One of which was being an usher at UNC basketball games, a job he loved the most. Billy was also a man of faith, and he took great pride in having a close family. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and often bragged about them.

Billy leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Bonnie, who he absolutely adored. Also surviving are his children, Tracy (Billy) Dalrymple, Keith (Elizabeth) Thomas, Craig (Cathy) Thomas; grandchildren, Alex (Sarah) Dalrymple, Bryan (Brianna) Dalrymple, Tanner, Graham, Sydney, Carly, and Gabby Thomas; five great-grandchildren, Raelynne, Rhett, Will, John, and Remi Dalrymple; sister, Ruby Dickens and many nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends starting at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Broadway Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Committal services will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
