William Alvin Gordon Sr.

William Alvin Gordon Sr, 79 of Sanford, passed away Wednesday October 16, 2019 at Moore Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday at the Mausoleum of Lee Memory Gardens.

Mr. Gordon was born in Skippers, VA, son of the late G.A. Gordon, Sr and Gladys Bryant Gordon. For many years Mr. Gordon worked for Georgia Pacific, and in 1979 he started Gordon Enterprises in Sanford. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by Irwin and Annie Mae Gordon, cherished uncle and aunt; and siblings Tommy Gordon, Ruby Jones and Phyllis Gordon of Virginia.

Mr. Gordon is survived by his wife Barbara B. Gordon; sons, William A. “Bill” Gordon Jr, and Tim Gordon and wife Cindy all of Sanford, and three grandchildren, Alex, Zach and Abby Gordon; and sister, Alicia French of Skippers, VA; several nieces and nephews.
