William Bryce Freeman, 38, of Sanford passed away on November 20, 2024 while serving and helping people and doing the job he loved to do. A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Monday December 2, 2024, at Crossroads Ministries in Broadway. Burial will follow in Broadway Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm before the service at Crossroads Ministries.
Bryce was born in Lee County a son of Donnie Steve Freeman Sr. and Shelia Thomas Hughes. Bryce was the most loving and caring person that anyone could have met. To know Bryce was to know love. He went from being a shy child to an outgoing adult. Growing up he had 3 best friends, Dan, Drew, and Phil. They are still as close as brothers. He graduated from Lee County High School in 2004. He made many friends and played soccer and baseball for the entirety of his high school career. At a young age he played AAU baseball with the Sanford Twisters and soccer with Lee County Lightning. He received an associates degree from Pitt Community College and graduated Lineman School at Caldwell Community College where he received the Top Instructors Award.
He loved his family and made it a habit to tell them often how much he loved them. His hugs were unforgettable. He loved to travel, spend time with friends and family, was a Tar-Heel fan, and loved the Lord. He was a positive person and truly lived life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his father Donnie Steve Freeman Sr; mother Sheila Thomas Hughes (Howard); brothers Donnie Steve Freeman Jr. and Howard Hughes III (Brittany); nephews Asher Freeman and Eli Gray Freeman; nieces Audrina Hughes, Tatum Hughes, Savannah Knoller, and Alexa Coggins; sister in law Kelly Freeman; grandparents Darrell and Margaret Brennan; many aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers and friends; and special friend Cristal Herrera.
He was reunited in heaven with his brother Christopher Lynn Freeman, paternal grandparents William Neil Freeman Sr. and Lois Morris Freeman and maternal grandfather Elbert Bryce Thomas.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
