Thomas Gunter

Thomas Edward Gunter, 78, of Sanford passed away Monday (12/11/23). Funeral services will be held Friday (12/15/23) at 11am at Lee Chapel. Burial to follow at Moncure Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Gunter was born in Lee Co. to the late Joseph Gunter and Virginia Harmon Gunter. He was a homebody who loved to fish and was a former Boy Scout leader. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Black Gunter; daughter Natalie Gunter; sisters Brenda Gilmore and Pat Dean; and brother Joe Gunter.

He is survived by his children Faye Hobson (Jr. Baker), Thomas Gunter (Angela), Sheila Patterson (Dewayne), and Chad Gunter; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and sisters Linda Poppa and Kathy Galloway.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday (12/14/23) at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.
