Thelma Sumner

Thelma Kennedy Sumner, 98, of Sanford passed away Thursday January 26, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday at Swann Station Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Cameron Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Sumner was born in Dublin County on December 15, 1919 to the late John Kennedy and Geneva Hunter Kennedy. She was a member of Swann Station Baptist Church, loved gardening, and retired from Cornell Dubiler.

Mrs. Sumner is survived by her daughters, Clara Dean Sumner of Sanford, and Glenda Sumner Lewis (Bobby Ray) of Fayetteville; two grandsons, Darrell Wayne Richardson and Ronald Dean Richardson (Pamela); six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; sister, Ruby Medlin (Neal) of Sanford.
