Shirley Kennett

February 27, 1935 — August 30, 2018

Shirley Garrett Kennett, born February 27, 1935, passed away Thursday August 30, 2018. She was a daughter of the late Clifton H. Garrett and Leah Pickett Garrett. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Garrett.

 

Mrs. Kennett is survived by her husband, H. Stone Kennett; a son Daniel James Kennett; three sisters, Lorene Garrett Johnson, Vergie Garrett Bassinov and Hannah Rosalyn Garrett all of Durham; brother, Harvey D. Garrett (Sue) of Timberlake, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Shirley was an active member of St James united Methodist Church, participating in bible Studies, Sunday School, and the Mary Brown Circle of the United Methodist Women, where she served as President and was a longtime Sunday School Secretary.

 

A Memorial service will be held at 3 O’clock Sunday at St James United Methodist Church with visitation following the service.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions can be made to St James United Methodist Church, 3808 St James Church Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604.
