Ronald David “Ronnie” Stone, 75 of Sanford passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday April 1, 2026, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Monday (4/6/2026) at Cool Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 11:00 am Monday at the Church.
Ronnie was born in Sanford, a son of the late David Samuel Stone and Betty Lucille Norris Stone. Ronnie devoted his working life to the textile and manufacturing industry. He was employed by Spanco, Federal Spinning, Roberts Company, and GKN, where he worked as an engineering technician. After 36 years of dedicated service, he retired from GKN, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and technical skill.
A man of faith, Ronnie was a devoted member of Cool Springs Baptist Church. He was involved in the Baptist Men’s Brotherhood, led the Royal Ambassadors for a period of time and participated in a mission trip to Belize.
Ronnie had many interests that brought him joy. At one time he was a member of the FL Knight Hunt Club. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and had a special passion for antique tractors, often attending local tractor shows with his family. He enjoyed beekeeping and hunting, especially for squirrels who were known for stealing his pecans, cooking, and, most of all, spending time with his family. Ronnie took great pride in spoiling his grandchildren and cherished every moment with them.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Evelyn Southern Stone; sons Kevin Stone (Krystal), and Matthew Stone (Sarah); daughter, Rachel Landrove (Matthew); brother, John Allen Stone (Rebecca); grandchildren, Kincaid Stone, Avery Stone, Sierra Stone, Chloe Stone, Payton Stone, Henry Stone and David Stone; great grandchildren, Maverick Stone and Hudson Blanton and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
