Robin Jeffrey Cummings

Robin Jeffrey Cummings, 66, of Sanford passed away on July 24, 2026. A celebration of life will be held at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 29th at 2:30 pm. The family will receive friends before the service starting at 1:00 pm in McDowell Hall.

Jeff was born in Lee County, a son of the late Jack Ross Cummings and Billie Ruth Stone Cummings. He was the operations manager at the Wastewater Treatment Plant for the City of Sanford for almost 30 years. He also worked at the Christmas Tree Patch with his father-in-law, John Hall, as well as, with his father and brother, Danny, at Cummings Landscaping for many years. He was a faithful member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church for over 40 years, where he was a Deacon and taught RA’s. He loved fishing, watching NCSU football and basketball. He loved playing softball and wearing his favorite #33. He played 1st base and served as a designated hitter for his team. Most of all, he loved his family. He was known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren, and he cherished spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Travis Kelvin Cummings.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye H. Cummings; daughters Sara C. Godfrey (Jamie), Kathryn C. Snipes (Patrick), and Claire C. Davis (Colton); grandchildren Avery Snipes, Jackson Snipes, Emerson Godfrey, Addyson Godfrey, and Madilyn Davis; brother Danny Cummings (April); and many nieces and nephews.
