Relmond Otis "RO" Pace, Jr

Relmond Otis “R. O.” Pace, Jr, 86 of Sanford passed away Saturday May 25, 2019. Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Saturday June 1st at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mr. Pace was born in in Bailey, NC a son of the late Relmond O. Pace Sr and Nevada Beard Pace. He was preceded in death by siblings, Florence, Rella, Ruby, Lois, and Garland. After graduating from Bailey High School, Mr. Pace attended East Carolina Teachers College (now East Carolina University) for several years before joining the U. S. Army. After his time spent in the Army, R.O. went to work with the North Carolina Dept. of Revenue, a career long job, and retired as the Revenue Office Manager.

Mr. Pace is survived by his wife, Carol Haug Pace; sons, Richard R. “Rick” Palmer and wife Sarah of Southern Pines, and Stephen Ryan Palmer, and wife Carissa of Wilmington; grandchildren, Kendall Simpson and husband Eric, Richard R. Palmer Jr, Savannah Palmer, and Caroline Palmer; step grandchildren, Caleb Johnson, Oran Johnson, and Ava Johnson; a sister, Jaxie Vick of Ellijay, GA; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends following the Funeral service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
