Reginald Nelson Jackson

Reginald Nelson “Reggie” Jackson, 90 of Sanford, passed away Saturday evening, April 1, 2017. Committal services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday at Buffalo Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:30pm at First Baptist Church, Sanford.

Mr. Jackson was born in Person County son of the late Stonewall Jackson and Lorraine Bailey Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Sybil Wrenn Jackson, and a granddaughter, Priscilla Anne Edwards; siblings, Mary Jo Barton, David Wayne Jackson, and Danny Francis Jackson. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Brotherhood\Baracca Sunday School Class, and was a former Deacon and Usher for many years. He also was a member of the Sanford Lions Club, Sanford Masonic Lodge # 151, The Shriners Amran Temple, and a Benevolent World War II Veteran of the US Navy.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his daughter, Regina J. Edwards (James) of Sanford; granddaughters, Cynthia J. Gunter (Anthony), Roxanna L. Jones (Joseph), and Dianna L. Shuping (Billy); great grandchildren Alyssa and Aubrey.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00pm in the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church, Sanford.
