Phyllis Irene Simeth
Phyllis Irene Simeth, 90, of Sanford, North Carolina, passed away on August 5, 2026. Born on August 25, 1935, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Clarence W. Wolf and Elsie L. Wolf, Phyllis lived a life defined by warmth, devotion, and an enduring love for the people and passions that filled her days.
On February 13, 1954, Phyllis married Raymond D. Simeth, and together they built a life centered on family. A devoted housewife and mother, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to raising their two sons, nurturing a home filled with love and steady companionship. Her commitment to her family was the cornerstone of everything she did.
Phyllis was a woman of many interests and a spirited, social nature. She had a deep love for horses and German Shepherds, animals that reflected her own loyal and gentle spirit. She enjoyed the freedom of motorcycle rides through the countryside, savoring the beauty of the open road and the landscapes it revealed. Among her greatest pleasures were playing cards with friends, a pastime that brought together her competitive spark and her gift for companionship. Phyllis never met a stranger; she possessed a remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went and could brighten any conversation with her genuine interest in others.
Her creative talents were equally impressive. Phyllis was a skilled ceramicist and an accomplished crocheter, and in later years she discovered a love for coloring fractals and mandalas, finding peace and beauty in their intricate patterns. These pursuits reflected the patience, artistry, and quiet contemplation that characterized so much of her life.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond D. Simeth; her son, Scott R. Simeth; her sister, Dorothy A. Merriman and her brother, Larry A. Wolf. She is survived by her son, Jay L. Simeth; her daughter-in-law, Charlene K. Simeth; her grandson, Adam R. Simeth along with extended family and many dear friends who will carry her memory forward with love.
May she now find eternal peace and rest in the grace of God.
