It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Nancy Pruett McBryde, who died at the age of 95.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Sanford, NC, and a devoted daughter of Lee and Elma Pruett of Sanford. She was a lifetime member of the St. Luke Methodist Church.
Nancy took pride in caring for her family. She dedicated her life to her daughters, Donna McBryde Notman (Jim), Karen McBryde, and Jackie McBryde Giles (Jon). Our Mother worked hard to provide a home filled with love, laughter, and family values. She will always be cherished for her warm personality, her infectious laugh, and her entertaining stories.
“Nanny” was very blessed to have a close relationship and special bond with her four grandchildren, Kendra, Brad, Bartt, and Richard Pruett, and her six great grandchildren who adored her and will carry on her legacy of love. Her nieces and nephews will miss her generous heart, her fun-loving nature, and their special times together.
Nancy was a woman of many talents. She loved to entertain family and friends, and she was famous for her excellent home cooking and baking. She was also renowned for her green thumb, and she was very proud of her beautiful gardens. “Miss Nancy” loved spending time with children, and her daycare business was very rewarding and successful. Her love of children was one of her greatest virtues.
Family and dear friends are invited to a celebration of her life to be held at St. Luke Methodist Chapel on May 17th at 1:00pm. Family will receive friends following the service for refreshments and fellowship in the Parlor. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374, or to St. Luke Methodist Church, 2916 Wicker St, Sanford, NC 27330.
