Milton Thomas Cole, 83, of Carthage passed away Thursday May 9, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday at White Hill Presbyterian Church with Rev. Brown Patton and Dana Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cole was born January 20, 1936 to the late Lealon “Red” and Mae Tillman Cole. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Shelby Cole Cooper, Carolyn Cole Jones and Gail Cole Jen.
Mr. Cole served in the United States Army Reserves. He was a member of White Hill Presbyterian Church where served as an elder and decan. He received The Faithful Saint Award and the PW Life Membership Award from the church.
Milton worked as a farmer, carpenter and in the maintenance for Moore County Schools. He created a Yestertime Antique Trailer, a stand-alone library, along with a book he wrote, “She’d Work to Anything”.
Mr. Cole is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith Lankford Cole; daughter, Connie Cole Bailey ( Perry) of Carthage; son, Rodney Milton Cole (Cindy) of Sanford; grandchildren, Divinity Bailey (Andy), Justin “JT” Cole (Jennifer), Felicity Baily Cole (Jon), Lauren Cole (Richard) and Amanda Place (Matthew); great grandchildren, Kyle Ring, Ava Cole, Ashlyn Cole, Kaden Bain and Madison; brother Johnny Cole (Marie); sisters, Joan Cole Oakley (Jack) and Kathy Cole Whitaker.
The family will receive friends on Saturday May 11, 2019 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm in White Hill Church Fellowship Building prior to the Funeral.
