Mary S. Moretz

Mary Satterfield Moretz, 88 of Sanford peacefully passed away Saturday May 23, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at Jonesboro Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.

Mary was born on Lee Co, a daughter of the late Harvey Satterfield and Jessie Cox Satterfield. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Moretz Dixon and her sister, Jean Gunter. Mary loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked with WEYE radio station for several years and later enjoyed a long and productive career in Real Estate.

Mrs. Moretz is survived by her sons, Clay Moretz (Nan) and Mike Moretz (Dawn); grandchildren, Burton Dixon (Ashley), Adam Moretz (Conley), Elizabeth Thrash (Taylor), Colton Moretz, and Madison Moretz; great grandchildren, Brooks Moretz, Claire Dixon, Mason Moretz, and Trey Dixon; her special nieces, Paula Troutman (Gary), Carla Barnes (Rocky), Jane Doss (Ronnie).

The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00am Tuesday prior to the funeral at the Church.
