Maggie Lou Garner

Maggie Lou Owens Garner, 75 of Sanford passed away Thursday January 4, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Monday at Euphronia Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Born in Alamance Co, Maggie was a daughter of the late William Gurney Owens and Maggie Lou Phillips Owens. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School in 1960, an active member of Euphronia Presbyterian Church and loved gardening and canning. Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband, John Garner, step son Roger Garner, and step daughter Louise Garner Jones; brothers, William Gurney Owens, JC Owens and JS Owens; sisters, Goldree Hughes and Mary Hargus.

Mrs. Garner is survived by her son, Ricky Garner (Sherry Angel Garner); step son, Junior Garner (Brenda Oldham Garner); sister Nancy O. Coley; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends starting at 2:00pm Monday at the Church before the Funeral.
