Lonnie McKinley Lawson

Lonnie McKinley Lawson, 86 of Carthage passed away Wednesday September 16, 2020.

Mr. Lawson was born in Surry Co a son of the late William Cornelius McKinley Lawson and Pearl Irene Gibbons Lawson. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and a talented string musician. Lonnie was preceded in death by siblings, Lethia Jamerson, Gladys Haire, Lelar Cooper, Lular Gregory, Claude Lawson, Esker Lawson, Herman Lawson and Hilmer Lawson.

Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Edna Lee Jones Lawson; daughters, Linda Murchison (Dale) of Cameron, and Tammy Lynn Shenkel (John) of Stem; son, Ricky Lee Lawson of Sanford; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; sister, Frances Baker Scissoms of Sanford.
