Lois Moore Godfrey

Lois Moore Godfrey, 78 of Sanford peacefully passed away Sunday September 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Lemon Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Godfrey was born in New Hanover Co, daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Moore and Emma Elease Hickman Moore. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Kitty Clyde Hickman, brother Samuel Hinton Moore, and a son in law, Boyd Stockton.

Lois retired from JT Davenport after 33 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, flowers, swinging by the pond, her annual girl’s trips, listening to Christian music and spending time at the beach.

Mrs. Godfrey is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joe Godfrey; children, Vanessa Stockton, Tim Godfrey (Tina), Randall Godfrey (Nikki), Laurel Johnson (Kent), Cindy Godfrey and Wanda Godfrey; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday (9/10/2026) at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.
