Lisa Lynn McBryde

Lisa Lynn McBryde, 58, of Sanford, North Carolina, passed away peacefully March 10, 2018 after a courageous battle with leukemia.

She was born July 21, 1959.  Lisa was a lifelong resident of Sanford and graduated from Meredith College.  She owned and operated ABC Daycare for 27 years, touching many families through this work.  After retirement, she served in the care of others.

Lisa had served on the Salvation Army Board and the City of Sanford Alcoholic Control Board.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Lynn McBryde and LuAnne Thomas McBryde and a brother, Thomas Drew McBryde.

Lisa is survived by Aytul Ozkan, an “adopted” sister who was an exchange student from Turkey, godchildren Cameron Dykes, Alicia and Johnna Hickman, numerous cousins, and a host of special friends who formed “Lisa’s Lickin’ (as in Kickin’) Leukemia League” to support her during her battle with cancer.

Lisa will be remembered for her brilliant smile, larger than life personality, her love of the beach, and the joy of being with friends.  A worship service in celebration of her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Sanford on Sunday, March 18 at 3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lending Paws a Hand, Inc., P.O. Box 765, Sanford, N.C. 27331 (The PayPal address is LPAH.Inc@gmail.com.) or the Salvation Army, 507 N. Steele Street, Sanford, N.C. 27330.

Dear McBryde Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. Times like this can be very difficult to deal with. At times, you may feel like there is no one to turn to. You may even feel like no one understands your pain. But there is one person we can turn to that can help us through all of our trials. Yes, God can help you during this difficult time. Pray to him constantly and he will help you. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4 Isa. 26:19)

God strengthens us by giving us "the power beyond what is normal" to make it through each passing day. Psalm 46:1 says: "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress". Nahum 1:7; "God"is a stronghold in the day of distress, and is mindful of those seeking refuge in him". Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you!
