Sanford

Linda Faye Perkins (OG), 79 died peacefully on February 23, 2026, at FirstHealth Hospice house in Pinehurst, NC.

Linda was born in Halifax, Virginia. Her family moved from Virginia to North Carolina when she was a young girl. She grew up in Wallace, NC where she made many lifelong friendships. Following High School, Linda moved to Charlotte to attend Charlotte Memorial School of Nursing. She graduated in 1967. Linda returned to college at the University of North Carolina Charlotte and successfully completed Batchelor of Science in Nursing in 1990.

She valued her profession as a nurse. She was hard-working and dedicated to taking great care of patients and supporting other nurses during her career in Charlotte.

Linda moved from Charlotte to Sanford in 2008. Life in Sanford was wonderful for her. She was able to be closer to family and her grandsons. They helped her go from a life of work to a life of play. Her grandsons taught her driveway basketball skills, and she taught them about loving and being loved well.

If you knew Linda, you were quite lucky. She loved her family and friends like no other. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her Wallace Rose-Hill High School classmates. Linda enjoyed getting together with her nursing school friends too. She cherished co workers who became her friends. In Sanford, she formed new friendships that were so special.

She loved her family abundantly. Linda was strong, kind, and caring. In the last several years, one of her best qualities was contentment. This has been a true blessing for her family and friends.

Linda was the middle child of the late Elizabeth and Walter Perkins. She was the youngest sister of the late Wanda Gail Perkins Newton and the oldest sister of Merle Dean Perkins Lanier (Farrell).

The family that will miss her most are her children, Samantha Lowman Jeffries (Robert), Sharon Elizabeth Lowman and her grandchildren, Andrew (Riley) and Charlie Jeffries.
