Linda Hunter Draughn

July 13, 1923 — March 16, 2020

Linda Hunter Draughn, 96, of Sanford NC, born July 13, 1923 died peacefully Monday, March16, 2020.   Mrs. Draughn was a founding and lifetime member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ and served on numerous boards and committees, in addition to elected offices.  She worked many years for Cornell-Dubilier and Sanford Family Medical Practice.  She was very active with family, friends and neighbors and was an avid bridge player. She loved the annual spring and fall trips to Hilton Head with her family. She remembered so many songs from her youth, or as she loved to call them “ditties”, and would break into song no matter where she was.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harden Quincy Draughn; her daughter, Donelda D. Radford; her parents, Hugh Reaves Hunter and Ethel Harrington Berryman Hunter; brothers, Stanford Reaves Hunter, Lewis Clemmons “Clem” Hunter, Rufus Harold Hunter, Ralph Berryman Hunter, J. Ray Hunter and Jack Manly Hunter; and sisters Elva Mae Hunter Kennedy, Bancy Omega Hunter Uzzell and Hilda Naomi Hunter Hunter.  She is survived by her daughter Debbie Draughn Quintiliani, and grandsons, Michael William Quintiliani and John Harden Quintiliani.  She was a loving aunt and great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. 

There will be a graveside service at Buffalo Cemetery Wednesday at 11:00am and a memorial service at a future date.
