Lewis Carlton Hunter

Lewis Carlton Hunter, 73 passed away peacefully at Central Carolina Hospital on Tuesday, February 9th. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday February 14, 2021 at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was born in Lee County, son of Lewis Clemmons Hunter and Audrey Juanita Womack Hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Faye Rumley Hunter and sister, Clemellyn Hunter Welch

He is survived by his children Jennifer Kelly Casey and husband Perry Wayne Casey; Amy Hunter Gordon and husband Chad Gordon, and his beloved grandchildren: Dalton Perry Casey, Elijah Lewis Casey, Skylar Audrey Casey, Cooper James Gordon and Carly Sloane Gordon.

Lewis graduated from Broadway High School and was a long distance truck driver for 35 years before retiring to spend time with his family. Known as a “character,” Lewis was a loyal friend and great storyteller to all he knew.
