Laura Kay Shepherd

Laura Kay Palmer Shepherd, 72 of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of Sanford passed away Friday June 29, 2018. Graveside services will be held at 4:00pm Thursday at Carbonton United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Shepherd was born in Randolph Co, a daughter of the late James Otis Palmer and Nellie Hucks Palmer. She graduated from Sanford Central High School. She was a member of the State Champion Softball Team. After the death of her mother, Kay moved to Rock Hill, SC to take a managerial position until her retirement in 2013.

Mrs. Shepherd is survived by her brother, Robert Stephen Palmer and wife Nancy of Siler City; sisters, Susanne Marie Palmer Bailey and husband Gordon of Sanford, and Judy Patricia Palmer Sprouse and husband Kenneth R, of Sanford; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and her beloved cat, Callie.
