Katherine Kelly Graham

Katherine “Katy” Kelly Graham, 81, of Sanford passed away Sunday Nov. 19, 2023 at UNC Hillsborough Hospital. Family will receive friends from 4-6pm at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home on Tuesday Nov. 21, 2023. The family will have a private committal at a later date.

Katherine was born in Lee Co. to the late Carlyn Walton “Shorty” Kelly and Swannie Powers Kelly.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lindell Dan Graham; siblings Joyce Seago, Patsy Worrell, Richard Kelly, Steve Kelly, Edith Page, and Johnny Kelly.

During her working days she worked at several local businesses including Montgomery Ward and Town and Country Laundry, both of which she and her late husband owned/operated until retirement.

Katherine was a loyal wife and mother, always putting her family first. Her love for them was evident in everything she did. With her quick wit and sense of humor, she could always make you feel loved with laughter. Her side glance given in jest, as a love pat, would always expand into kind words with her pride for you.

But it wasn’t just her humor that made Katy special. She had an uncanny memory for life events, remembering even the smallest details. This showed just how deeply she cared about everyone and everything that touched her heart. Though she never liked being fussed over, but she would recant all the great moments when she was. Her gentile reminder with every conversation was to do all things in life, for tomorrow is never promised.

One of Katherine’s greatest contributions was her ability to open people’s eyes and hearts to our Lord above. She was a long-time attendee of the Sanford Chapel and most recently a regular visitor at New Life Bible Church. Through her dedication, words, and actions, she showed others the love and grace of God. Many will forever be grateful for the impact she had on their lives.

Katy’s presence will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Her love, humor, and wisdom will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela Moore; son Kelly Graham; granddaughter Jennifer Wilson; great grandson Parker Miller; and many other wonderful family members.

Memorial contributions can be made to Sanford Chapel 650 N Franklin Dr, Sanford, NC 27330 or to New Life Bible Church 2398 Wicker St, Sanford, NC 27330.
