Ms. Joyce (Ritter) Pilson
Ms. Joyce (Ritter) Pilson, 77, of Cameron, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Lillington Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Joyce was born to the late Lexi and Myrtis Ritter of Seagrove, North Carolina. She was a 1967 honor graduate of Seagrove High School and was known throughout her life for her deep faith, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and church.
A talented self-taught pianist, Joyce was a charter member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as pianist for more than 30 years. Her dedication to the Lord and to her church family was immeasurable, and her ministry through music touched countless lives.
Joyce was also employed with Moore County Schools in the after-school daycare program. She had a special love for children, and her caring nature, warm smile, and patient heart made a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lexi and Myrtis Ritter of Seagrove, North Carolina.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Zachary Ritter and husband, Richard, of Raleigh; her sister, Wanda Brady and husband, Harvey, of Bennett; along with many beloved extended family members, church family, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Creekside Community Church, 2280 Nicholson Road, Cameron, NC 28326.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Lillington Health and Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care provided to Joyce during the past two years. They also extend heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice for the compassion, comfort, and dignity shown during her final days.
Joyce will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her servant's heart, her love of music, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. Through her ministry, her friendship, and her devotion to Christ, she touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of grace, faithfulness, and love.
