In our thoughts with love and prayers from The Festival Singers of Lee County

Expression of Sympathy Sep 22 2018 12:00 AM

Our deepest condolences to the family. When our loved ones fall asleep in death, words alone cannot ease the pain of our loss. Our loving God Jehovah understands how we feel and he comforts us by means of his word the Bible. Psalm 147:3 reads He (God) heals the brokenhearted; He binds up their wounds. We can also find comfort from Jesus words at John 5:28-29 The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. May these scriptures bring comfort and calmness of heart to you during the difficult days ahead.

Our thoughts & prayers are with the entire Garner family. I've known Joseph Garner for over 25 years & he will be missed. He taught me more than he will ever know. No matter how long the space or time...Joseph was always a loyal friend. He would take the shirt off his back to help someone else. I used to love to sit & listen to his stories. I know he loved his family & his wife & he was a good example. I will always have my memories. The times we spent in Kendale, woodland avenue, him driving out to Broadway & visiting with me & the Broadway parade he sat with me in, riding 4 wheelers & a many of good conversations on the back of an old pickup truck. I have met many people in my life but Joseph Garner was my friend & I know in my heart they don't make Joseph Garner's anymore. I try to keep a smile on my face because I know he's sitting up there with Grandma Maggie & he's in paradise now. When I come home I hope he's one of the 1st faces I see...sitting on some ol riverbank.

Some bright morning when this life is over
I'll fly away
To that home on God's celestial shore
I'll fly away

I'll fly away, oh glory
I'll fly away in the morning
When I die, Hallelujah by and by
I'll fly away
