My Dad (Joe's cousin) always said Joe was as good a man as ever born and in my Dad Wilbur's words "as tough as they come". Joe is home with the family now where we all soon will be. Joe RIP. We will soon all meet again every Sunday afternoon down at the home place on Lee Creek for the family gathering. Joe was passionate about quail hunting and loved his bird dogs. Hope the quail are plentiful and I know Uncle Carl wants to fish. Respect and Love for you. Until we all meet again. Your Cousin, Ron Stevens

We all loved and admired Joe. He was a great friend and always a joy to be with. I will especially miss that lighting fast wit which could challenge the likes of J. Carson and Leno.

There are a lot of memories I have of the times Joe and I were together especially in 66 and 67. Things I can’t tell everybody about. He knows and I will remember forever. Will miss you my friend.
