John Roy Johnson

John Roy Johnson 77 of Sanford passed away Thursday May 11, 2017. A Memorial service will be held at 4:00pm Saturday at Cool Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. Johnson was born in Cumberland Co, a son of the late Roy Edward Johnson and Marion Mussellwhite Johnson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Stevenson and a brother, Donny Johnson. Mr. Johnson was an Air Force Veteran, a member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church, and was in the furniture business for 49 years and Co-Owner of Johnson Riggs Furniture for some 26 years. He loved sports and his weekly Hearts Club.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Janice Babb Johnson; his children, Kenneth Johnson, April Johnson Cummings (Danny), and Brent Johnson (Marie); grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Nicole C. Brown (Matt), Brittney C. Hulsey (Nick), Taylor Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Colin Johnson, and Landon Johnson; great grandchildren, Everly Johnson, Eliza Katherine Husley, and Sadie Hope Brown; siblings, Joyce Matthews, Stacy Johnson, Lloyd Johnson, Mike Johnson, Beverly Yourell, and Ricky Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30pm Saturday in the Cool Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
