John David "J.D." Stewart

John David “JD” Stewart, 84 of Sanford passed away Sunday March 22, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday at Lee Memory Gardens.

J.D. was born in Harnett Co, a son of the late Leatie Womack Stewart and Paul Stewart. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ann Williams Stewart; a son, Jay Stewart; siblings Kent Stewart, Ann Stewart Powers, LP Stewart, and Sandy Stewart. JD was a member of Zion Christian Church where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He also was a Veteran of the US Army. He was a family caregiver and always kept everything in its place whether in the yard or in his home.   

Mr. Stewart is survived by his daughter, Sharon S. Bray (Phil) of Sanford; two grandchildren, Heather Carroll (Chris) of Sanford, and David Seagroves of Sanford; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey Johnson, Landon Carroll, and Isabella Seagroves; half- brother Ray Stewart and half-sister, Paulette Jeffress. 

The family will greet friends at the home.
