John Gordon Brown

John Gordon Brown, 77 of Sanford passed away Monday June 22, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.

Mr. Brown, a son of the late John Lewis Brown and Flossie Pendergrass Brown. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis Wade Brown, and Walter Raymond Brown. He was a 1960 graduate of Deep River High School, in the plumbing business for 49 years having an unlimited plumbing and HVAC license, working with Carroll and Gift for 12 years and then with Ivey Mechanical for 37 years.

Surviving are his children, John Darren Brown (Michelle), Melissa Lynn Brown, Stephen Jason Brown (Jessica) and Christy Marie Brown all of Sanford; grandchildren, John Grant Brown (Lexie Anne), Thomas Chase Brown, Patrick Nolan Brown, Peyton Sprouse, Madison Marie Brown, Dillon Raymond Brown, Ryan Byrd, Dylan James Elmore, Layla Elmore; sister, Shirley Brown Cotton (Bill) of Sanford.

The family will greet friends Wednesday at 84 Fawn Lane, Sanford.
