JoAnn Bingham Testo-Curlee, 91, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, April 13th, in the Chapel of Centenary United Methodist Church, 4 1/2 Street entrance, Winston-Salem, NC.
JoAnn was born a farm girl in Durham, OK, a daughter of the late Rube Bingham and Leah Allen Bingham Wylie. She had multiple careers, including bookkeeper and realtor. Throughout most of her life, she cared for her beloved brother, Rube Jr., who had special needs and was a longtime resident of Yadkinville until his passing. She was preceded in death by husbands Joseph Testo and Bob Curlee and a stepson, Kent Curlee. She was a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston Salem.
JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Patti Cox (Stephen); grandchildren, Lauren Cox, Paul Cox (Emily Gladden), and Sarah Purcell (Skip); step-grandchild, Elly Hutchins; great grandchildren, Thomas Weimert, Jack Weimert, Evelyn Cox, JoJo Cox, Hampton Purcell, and Henley Purcell; and her dear nephew, Winston Shindell (Sue).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hand Bell Choir at St Luke United Methodist Church, 2916 Wicker St, Sanford, NC 27330.
