Jerry Lynn Crotts

Jerry Lynn Crotts, 88 of Sanford peacefully passed away Monday August 17, 2026. There will be a private committal at 1:00pm Saturday, August 29th. Family will then receive and greet friends in the Parlor at 1:15, with the memorial service to follow at 2:00pm in the First Baptist Church Chapel".

Jerry was born in Valdese, NC a son of the late Claude Henry Crotts and Bertha Elizabeth Smith Crotts and was also preceded in death by his brother, Howard Crotts.

He graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1960 and began doing genetics field work at Chapel Hill. He then went on to work in pharmaceutical sales in Charlotte. In 1968, he joined the Silicone products division of General Electric as a sales and marketing manager, working in Atlanta and New York. He moved his family to Sanford in 1980 and became National Sales Manager for the Sanford Brick Company. He later went on to work in the environmental field, first with Trion, Inc, then founding his own companies, Environmental Product Sales and Enviro Consulting Partners, with which he ran until he retired at the age of 85.

He was a member of First Baptist Church for almost 50 years and loved spending time with family and friends. He was a college baseball player, an avid golfer and a supreme lover of the outdoors and animals. He was a family man and friend to everyone he met.

Mr. Crotts is survived by his wife of 63 years, Susan Stephenson Crotts; son Cameron Lynn “Chip” Crotts (Kelly); granddaughter, Abigail Crotts.
