Jerry Lynn Coley

Jerry Lynn Coley, 77, of Sanford, NC, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday March 18, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 22, 2023, at 1pm at Solid Rock Community Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Coley was born in Lee County, NC, a son of the late Melvin Thomas Coley and Katherine Wood Coley. Jerry was a proud Airforce Veteran and great man with strong morals and Christian faith. After 25 years employed at GKN Drive Line, he retired and pursued a career in the trucking industry. A loving husband and pillar of his family, he inspired his sons both Matthew and Jeremy to go into the trucking business and his grandsons and grandson in law to join the military. He was an avid traveler who loved exploring the country with his wife, Caroline. He enjoyed the outdoors and often took his grandchildren camping. Jerry loved his Ford Mustang, sitting on his porch smoking cigars and walks at the church with his friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Coley, and stepson Scott Bailey.

Mr. Coley is survived by his loving wife, Caroline Yow Coley; sons, Robert Anthony Coley, Matthew Aaron Coley (Vanessa), and Jeremy Coley (Brittany); grandchildren Aaron Coley, Sara Coley, Taylor Ray, Daniel Bailey, Adrian Guzman, Ethan Guzman, Elena Coley, Lily Coley, Noah Coley, Ruby Coley, and Lula-Ann Coley; great-grandchildren Beckham Allen Ray, Lorelei Ray; sister, Vernell C. Matthews (Gray); and beloved dog, Jr Coley. 

The family will greet friends starting at 11am before the service at the church.
