Jeannette Whiteman

Jeannette Harris Whiteman, 76 of Sanford passed away Saturday April 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.

Mrs. Whiteman was born in Ayden, NC, daughter of the late Lyman Earl Harris and Mary Edna Humphrey Harris. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and retired from the Chatham County Schools. Jeannette loved and treasured time spent with her family.

Mrs. Whiteman is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Whiteman; daughters, Lynette Allen of Sanford, and Joelle Cooper (Paul) of Sanford; son, Mark Whiteman (Katherine) of Sanford; grandchildren, Matthew Wicker, Will Cooper, Meredith Cooper, Levi Whiteman, and Emma Whiteman; sister, Elaine Hardin of Cape Carteret; brother, Tony Harris of Ayden; and her Dachshund, Abby.

The family will receive friends starting at 12:30pm Tuesday in the Parlor at First Baptist Church.
