James Richard Laurie

James Richard “Jim” Laurie, 75 of Sanford passed away Sunday April 28, 2019. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at First Baptist Church Sanctuary.  The family will greet friends following the service in the Church Parlor.

Mr. Laurie was born in Baltimore County, Maryland, a son of the late James C. Laurie and Fae Zimbower. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Lishok Laurie.  Jim was a US Navy Veteran and a member of First Baptist Church. 

Mr. Laurie is survived by his wife, Karen Barr Laurie; daughters, Melissa A. Laurie of Odenton, MD and Erin C. Laurie of Chapel Hill; siblings, Hugh Laurie (Nancy) of DE, Ellen Roller (Vince) of MD; Jane Waclowski (Mark) of MD and Jean Sudina (Jim) of MD; many nieces and nephews.
