Irene Flint Stanley Garver of The Carolina Trace, Sanford, NC, died peacefully in her sleep early the morning of November 18, 2021. She was 101, having been born March 30, 1920, at Kansas City, Kansas, where she was for more than 50 years married to Scott Stanley Sr., a commercial realtor and real-estate investor. They had five children: Scott Jr. of Williamsburg, VA; John E. of Oakton, VA; the late Sharon Irene (Redwine) of Winston-Salem, NC; Dan Stanley of The Trace, NC; and Jeanne E. of Sanford NC.
Irene married Paul F. Garver following the death of her first husband, and they enjoyed homes in Sun City West, AZ; Washington state; and The Trace, Sanford, NC. Following Paul’s passing she lived for a time at Waltonwood in Cary, NC, before returning to another home at The Trace.
Mrs. Garver asked that we report no further of her long and busy life than that she had five children, 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and “so far” 18 great-great grandchildren.
Irene was a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church of Sanford, NC, where a celebration of her life will be officiated by the Rev. Michael Edwards beginning at 11:00 a.m. on December fourth, to be followed by a luncheon reception in the fellowship hall.
Memorial donations may be sent in her name to the Morris Chapel Scholarship Fund. Friends wishing to leave messages of sympathy may do so at rpfh@rogerspickard.com..
