Henry Offie Womack, Jr

Henry Offie Womack Jr, 92 of Sanford passed away Sunday October 16, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday at Buffalo Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service.

Mr. Womack was born in Mecklenburg Co, son of the late Henry Offie Womack Sr and Margaret Lillian Warlick Womack. Mr. Womack attended The Citadel and graduated from North Carolina State College (now NCSU) in 1950.  He was a Veteran of the US Army\Air Corp and was a B17 Flight Engineer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Womack was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Womack Plyler, a sister, Virginia and his brother, Bill.

Mr. Womack is survived by his wife of 70 years, Josephine Holler Womack; son, Stephen Womack (Kathie) of Sanford, their children, Brian Womack (Sarah) and Dr. Maggie Wester (Jonathan) and great granddaughter, Kylie; son in law, Justin Plyler of Myrtle Beach, their children, Hank Plyler, and Sims Plyler (Tara) and great granddaughter, Hannah; many nieces and nephews.
