Hannah Elease Petty

Hannah P. Petty, 46, of Sanford passed away on September 2, 2026. A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 5, 2026, at 5pm at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 4pm before the service. A private burial will be held at a later time.

Hannah was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She loved her family, especially her children. She was a dedicated mother who worked hard to make sure her children’s lives were enriched. She took them on adventures as often as she could, from large vacations to simple trips to the park and to museums. She made sure they were active in sports, clubs, and dance and she along with her husband went to every recital and game. She loved NC State, country music, going to concerts and Topsail Beach. She was a strong fighter and an even better friend. She never met a stranger. She worked at Pfizer for over 20 years.

She is survived her loving husband, James Thomas Petty; children, Scarlett Elease Petty and Carter James Petty; mother, Jane Gutherie Peele (Dennis); father, Clarence Edward Peele (Sharon); brother, Caleb Edward Peele; sister, Danielle Peele; niece, Ellie Peele; nephews, Colten Peele, and Elliott Faucette; mother-in-law, Beverly Price; and sister-in-law, Sarah Faucette (Justin).

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elizabeth & Fred Gutherie and Rosalind & Clarence Peele; and father-in-law, Bill Price.
