Grady Wesley Ellis

Grady Wesley Ellis, 82 of Sanford passed away Wednesday November 15, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday at Rogers Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Hickory Mtn. Methodist Church Cemetery in Pittsboro.

Mr. Ellis was born in Chatham Co, a son of the late John Wesley Ellis and Edna Johnson Ellis. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Juanita Ellis and a son Keith Wesley Ellis. Grady started his working career in the Furniture Manufacturing Industry at the age of 16. After his retirement from the furniture industry he began a new career at the Waste Recycling Center, where he retired, for the second time, almost two years ago.

Mr. Elis is survived by his wife, Shirley Venable Ellis; daughter, Sheila Ellis Locklear (Dallas) of Sanford; grandchildren, Teresa Ellis Morrison (Jason), Travis Ellis (Brittany Beal), Tasha Danielle Locklear (Jonathan Gonia) and Kevin Dallas Locklear (Amber McNeill); seven grandchildren; two brothers, James Ellis (Joyce) of Sanford, and Bernice Ellis of Bynum; sister, Annie Ring of Greensboro.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am Saturday at the Funeral Home prior to the Service; and other times at 904 Peach Orchard Road, Sanford.
