Gordon Earl Laverack

Gordon Earl Laverack, 66, of Sanford passed away on Monday March 23, 2026 surrounded by his family. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 28, 2026, 2pm at 1HOPE Assembly at 1922 Henley Road Sanford, NC.

Gordon was born in Orange Co. Florida, a son of Warren “Nick” Laverack and the late Myrl Adair Laverack. Gordon was fiercely loving. He was a strong presence in his son's life from the very beginning and was always not only present at whatever they were interested in, but their biggest cheerleader. He loved spending time with his family.

His pastimes included watching westerns, following dirtbike and NASCAR races, fishing with his sons, and driving around in his beloved truck. He loved the beach and telling funny stories. He was also an animal lover with a special affinity for red wolves.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Greg E. Laverack.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Joyce Laverack; sons Caleb Nicholas Laverack and wife Stepheny and Jarrett Levi Laverack; father Warren “Nick” Laverack; sister DeDe Larson; brother in law RJ Larson; and nephews, McKie, Nicholas, and niece Brooke.
