Gordon Roger Button

July 21, 1946 — April 16, 2016

Gordon Roger Button, 69 of Sanford passed away Saturday evening, April 16, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

 

Buttons as he was affectionately known was born in Buffalo, NY on July 21, 1946. Buttons retired from Noble Oil in Oil Refinery Operations. He served proudly in the US Army and the US Air Force. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 382, and VFW Stanley McLeod Post 5631, and the Sanford Moose Lodge. He enjoyed going to the beach, going out on the “Big Boat”, singing Christmas songs, no matter what time of year, and spending time with his many friends. Buttons will be remembered the most for his quick wit and humor and love for his fellow man.

 

Buttons is survived by, and will be missed by, his many friends that he called his family.

A special thanks to the staff of Central Carolina Hospital, Moses Cone Hospital, Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehab, and Liberty Home Care Hospice, for their compassionate care during his illness.
