Gilbert Charles Koehler

January 23, 1914 — June 19, 2019

Gilbert Charles Koehler, 105 of Sanford passed away Wednesday June 19, 2019. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday at White Hill Presbyterian Church.

 

Mr. Koehler was born in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Emil Koehler and Amelia Wirth Koehler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Bartho Koehler; grandson, Richard C. McKay; great-great grandson, Mason Parish, and his sister, Florence Imig. Mr. Koehler retired from Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co after 46 years as the computer programmer, was a Master Mason, and a member of the Independence Lodge in Milwaukee, WI for over 80 years.

 

Mr. Koehler is survived by his daughter, Barbara K. McKay and husband Patrick of Sanford; granddaughters, Sandra Perry of Sanford, Jennifer McKay of Chapel Hill, and Leslie W. McKay of Sanford; great grandchildren, Meghan Sacco (Alex), Stephanie Perry (DJ Parrish), Richard C. “Chase” McKay Jr, Ellen Parrish McKay, and Samuel Taylor McKay; great-great grandchildren, Kinsley Sacco and Skylar Sacco.

 

The family will greet friends following the Memorial service in the Church Fellowship Hall.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the White Hill Presbyterian Church, 3335 White Hill Rd, Sanford, NC 27332 or to   Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
