Frankie Lee Swann

Frankie Swann, 79, of Sanford, NC passed away on July 22, 2025, from cancer. Services to be held at a later date.

Frankie was a devoted father who loved his sons so much. He spent his leisure time coaching T-ball, going to soccer games, and taking the boys to BMX races. He loved horses most of his life; often going on trail rides and watching Nathan show horses. He was proud of Jason performing in multiple theater productions in Lee County and Playmakers Repertory Theater in Chapel Hill, NC. He was deeply adored by his granddaughters.

One of Frankie’s most enjoyable pleasures was racing. It didn’t matter if it was go-kart, stock car, truck, or NASCAR racing. He loved Ford cars and later watching both his sons race Bobby Kellam Racecars. He stood at the fence line and cheered cars to the checkered flag.

Frankie was preceded in death by his parents Wharton Jones Swann and Minnie Lee McCormick Swann, and siblings Mabel Swann, James Vernon Swann, Mary Louise Swann, John Clayton Swann, Mozell Gray Swann, and Calvin Rudolph Swann.

He is survived by sons Jason Franklin Swann and Nathan Lynn Swann; grandchildren Peyton Swann and Bree Swann; brother William “Billy” Swann (Phyllis); true friend Maria Zone; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
