Everett Lindsay Jones

 

Everett “Linsay” Jones, 90, of Sanford passed away Thursday Nov. 2, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday November 7, 2023, at  11am at First Baptist Church. The family will greet friends following the service in the Church Parlor.

 

Mr. Jones was born in Stanley Co. to the late Johnny L. Jones and Lillie Havel Jones. Mr. Jones was an Army Veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. He graduated from ECU with a bachelor’s in music education and was a devoted member of both First Baptist Church and the Sanford Lions Club. He loved wood working, making furniture and traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Nelda Honeycutt Jones and a daughter Lori J. Saubers.   

 

He is survived by his daughter Lisa Jones Childress and husband Kemp Jan II; grandchildren Kayleigh Childress and fiancé Reinaldo Quinones, Max Everett Childress, and Lauren H. Mayo and husband Jesse; great grandchild Josey Leigh Mayo; and special niece Cynthia Lowder Dean and husband Jim.
