Ernestine Covington Pickard

Ernestine Weber Covington Pickard, 96 of Sanford, after a long and spiritual life went to be with her Lord on Tuesday June 6, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday at Jonesboro Cemetery.

Mrs. Pickard was born in Mecklenburg Co, daughter of the late George Charles Weber and Idella Jane Williams Weber. She was a member of the Jonesboro Garden Club, and a longtime member of Jonesboro United Methodist Church and sang in the Choir.

Mrs. Pickard is survived by her son, John L. Covington III (Susan) of Liberty; daughters, Cynthia Covington Hagan (Kenneth) Jacksonville, NC, Clarice C. Hunter Smalley of W. Columbia, SC, and Brenda C. Johnston (Mike) of Morrisville; one nephew, David James; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
