Eric Neil Bumgarner

Eric Neil Bumgarner, 72, of Sanford passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on July 17, 2026. Private celebration of life with family will be held at a later date.

Eric was born in Boger City, NC in Lincoln Co. to the late Lloyd Lee Bumgarner Sr. and Ruth Hilda Laney Bumgarner. Eric enjoyed going to the beach, boating and karate. He was a commercial construction manager for many years. He would say they traveled from places like Florida all the way up to New York. He was a true family man and loved God. He loved spending time with his family, grilling out and making life fun.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Randy Bumgarner and Lloyd Bumgarner Jr. and sister Karen Bumgarner.

He is survived by his wife Marsha Bumgarner; daughters Melissa Bumgarner (Matt), Erin Bumgarner (Daniel); grandchildren Caitlyn, Brittany, Colby, Ashley, and Amber; great grandchildren, Mason, Skylar, Levi, and Isabella; sister Sharon Adkins and many cousins, nieces and nephews..
