Ercel Wright Holmes

Ercel Wright Holmes, 82, of Sanford passed away Wednesday July 21, 2021. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11am at Jonesboro Cemetery.

She was born in Calhoun, WV to the late Robert Wayne Wright and Lucille Stall. She loved her church. Her hobbies were arranging flowers and babysitting her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her husband Roger Edmund Holmes Sr.; and brothers Clarence Wright and Dwayne Wright.

She is survived by her sons Roger E. Holmes II (Joyce) of Sanford and Paul Allen Holmes (Sonya) of High Point; daughters Tamala Gentry (Herman) of Linden, Lorie Rumbley (Bobby) of Sanford, and Renee Gunter (Greg) of Sanford; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and sisters Margaret Fenton of Ohio and Phyllis Waddell of Sanford.

Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday July 23, 2021 where Mrs. Holmes will lie in state until 5pm.
